If i am remeron(anti-depressant) and buspar (anti-anxiety) and i take one 1 Oxycodone is that bad mix? I take remeron once at night for insomnia and throughout the day i take buspar twice for anxiety. I wanted to know if i could occasionally take one oxycodone for pain or do you think there'd be a bad mix?!

David B replied: "wouldnt drive or do brain surgery but should be fairly harmless."

papersucks replied: "I reeeeeeeeeeeally doubt it."

James replied: "You should be fine... From what I've always learned all three of those drugs are going to interact with essentially the same chemicals in your brain (dopamine and serotonin) However, the oxycodone is opiate-based so whatever you do DON'T mix it with alcohol (as you probably already know) Just don't overdo it... and double check the prescriptions for interaction warnings!!"

How effective is Buspar (Buspirone) for anxiety and panic? Hi Has anyone taken buspar for anxiety? I have anxiety and the doctor has given me Buspar for "taking the edge" off. Im not sure if it is helping. i am ust wondering if anyone out there has taken it and how long does it take befoe I feel it kick in? Thanks

Dave replied: "I have a panic disorder and was given Buspar too. We all are different when it may work on some people just fine, but in other it dosent helpmuch or at all. Just tell your doc what its not doing for you and he will try something else. It didn't d me any good at all and I took it for a month and finally ended up taking Klonipin (Clonazapam) that help me with everything that could make me feel uncofortable. Even do public speaking. sak your doc and never drink if you take that."

how is buspar for anxiety? does it help and does it have bad side effects or sexual side effects? how is buspar compared to valium and klonopin bc i had bad sexual side effects with those. and xanax really didn't help much besides making me tired. i'm already taking an anti-depressant so i don't need more suggestions how i should take them.

Tara J replied: "Since you're already taking an antidepressant, have you considered taking one that is approved for general anxiety and/or social anxiety too? I believe there are a couple SSRIs that fall in this category. (e.g. Effexor, Paxil) It doesn't work for everyone, but if Xanax made you drowsy, that's how most anti-anxiety meds are."

Surya K replied: "ihave put on many pts with Buspar and side effects r minimal...but dont take it along with other drugs.there are no serious side effects"

Alexandra A replied: "I would just make it plain and simple and ask your psychiatrist those questions. I have been on Klonopin and it worked for a while, but, then it stopped working. I've also been on BuSpar and that was also good for me until it stopped working for me. I take Xanax and that does cause sleepiness, but, I would think that Valium would be worse in terms of drowsiness/sleepiness."

liberty9887 replied: "I have a friend who has been taking hit for a long time with great success and no major side effects. Every body reacts differently to a diff. pysch med so you may have to do a trial and error thing. When I took a med for anxiety i tried lexapro and loved it. Good Luck."

DEBBIE replied: "Buspar that I know, and have been on is none addicting,so allot of people are put on it ...Didn't help my depression nor anxiety...but that's me...I take effexor now, which helps, and is suppose to have an anxiety med in it....Ask your doctor or a pharmacist about it that's what they are their for..."

luv replied: "Lexapro works really well with anxiety abd depression. I am on it n it works grear, most other people like it as well. So talk to your doctor about going on lexapro."

fontaine replied: "Learning how to think properly and stopping the worry habit works better than meds.."

What is more effective for anxiety, Buspar or Ativan ? or please name something even more effective, but doesn't make me drowsy.

Louis C replied: "In general it is never a good idea to take medication unless you have a serious problem. Buspar and Ativan and other benzodiazepine drugs are known to cause some negative side effects pretty commonly. If it is at all possible, you should avoid taking medication altogether and maybe get a license for medical marijuana, if your anxiety isn't all too serious."

sskeels15 replied: "Low-dose Xantax. It's the only thing that worked for me. Preventatives didn't work for me. Only something fast-acting to kick in for the occasional but intense anxiety attacks. Just having the bottle makes me calmer. Good luck. It's such a terrible crummy thing to have to deal with."

Hermione G replied: "If you've got long term anxiety then I would look into drugs other than the ones you have mentioned. The ativan is quick acting. You may need a longer-term type of med such as Prozac. Again this is if your anxiety is long term. You may have generalized anxiety disorder. Consult with a caring and experienced psychiatrist for more help. T"

Kassy B replied: "I use .25MG of Xanax . It works really well for me. When I use the .5MG dosage I get REALLY drowsy. But if you need a quick stress and anxiety relief try Kava Tea, by Yogi Tea. It really helps during the day. Hope that helps!"

(bipolar chick) replied: "buspar gave me brain shocks and gave me a terrible headache,,,,"

What kind of side effects should I expect from Buspar? (anxiety med)? I have been taking Paxil for anxiety for about 3 months, and I have gained 14 pounds during that time. I called my Doctor, and she switched me to Buspar. I took my first one last night, and I woke up with some "tummy issues" but feel ok otherwise. I just started a new job and just need to know what to expect from this medicine! I don't want to freak out on them my first week! (just kidding - but you know what I mean!)

Sawyer replied: "The pharmacy should have given you a flyer with the side effects listed. If not, you can call them & ask for one."

pinoynursedude replied: "It may be several weeks before you start to feel better, but do not stop taking buspar without first talking to your doctor. If you experience any of the following serious side effects, stop taking buspar and seek emergency medical attention: * an allergic reaction (difficulty breathing; closing of your throat; swelling of your lips, tongue, or face; hives); * chest pain or an irregular heartbeat; * headache, dizziness, lightheadedness, slurred speech, confusion, or blurred vision; * numbness or tingling in your hands, feet, arms, or legs; * depression; or * uncontrollable movements of your arms, legs, tongue, or lips. Other, less serious side effects may be more likely to occur. Continue to take buspar and talk to your doctor if you experience * drowsiness or fatigue, * dry mouth, or * an increase in nightmares or dreams. Side effects other than those listed here may also occur. Talk to your doctor about any side effect that seems unusual or that is especially bothersome."

GaugeMe replied: "What Pinoy said is the general symptom list. I personally didn't have any luck with Buspar; it made me really nauseous and dizzy, it took my mind off of the stress that I was worried about and replaced it with nausea, dizzyness, headaches, and an overall "blah" feeling. :) Good luck, though!"

bry7josh replied: "I take Buspar for anxiety! I have no side effects! I hope you don't get any either! It works great for me. I just started taking it a month ago, but I didn't feel the effects until 8 days later so give it at least a week to start working. I'm on 45 mg aday! I wish you luck, if it doesn't work for you tell the doctor and they can try you on something else. Hugs!"

Anyone ever taken Buspar for anxiety? I've been having really bad anxiety due to a reaction from Levaquin and the side effects it caused. My dr. put me on Buspar and I'm on my 4th day. So far the only real side effect I can feel is that i get kind of tired/dizzy after taking the pill...especially today when I increased the dosage. Anyone have any experiences with Buspar they can share? Thanks!

Darla C replied: "My mom took it and it really worked for her."

Nikkiblueberry :) replied: "YEAH, I'm actually on it right now, and i love it i mean it has always given me great results, i'm only on 10 mgs. so thats a pretty light dosage but overall i am less anxious and lexapro gave me a bad reaction so i went to this one and it helps. Your tired/dizziness will go away soon because thats really when you are first getting used to it."

Colt replied: "Ask your doctor about Xanax. After flying for years, I suddenly found myself dreading a business flight. A shrink told me we could talk about it for years, or I could take Xanax and make my flight. I chose the Xanax and it worked."

wtnoah333@ymail.com replied: "I suffer from anxiety to and I have been to all them doctors and took all the medicines and some helped a little bit but one day i was surfing the internet and i found this thing at. I dont never really buy anything online but I bought this product and it worked. Its really cool because it is a natural way to help you with your problem and it also is a whole lot cheaper than having to pay a doctor on a regular basis. I think that you should at least give this a try i mean it may not help you but it helped me and I just thought I would inform you on what made my life a lot happier."

I was wondering how buspar works for anxiety i have only taken it for 2 days now along with wellburtin.? I have anxiety and i am a very nervous person. Even more so when i am in social situations. I was just wondering if anyone has had any luck with buspar?

staremwi replied: "check the product details and look at the side effects. call your pharmacist and ask about combinations to make sure they work well together."

schitlipz replied: "I don't know busbar, but Wllbutrin I know well. I know many SSRIs very well and they all lowered my inhibition and I carried out suicidal thoughts. Psychiatrists are obnoxiously arrogant and will even prescribe antipsychotics for depression and anxiety (not meaning you have depression, but they are closely related). I opted for my family doctor to supervise me on an older drug caller Manerix, an MAOI. It doesn't fuction in the same way as SSRIS and I haven't even slashed myself since then. It helps the anxiety a bit (I've got agoraphobia). I combine it with clonazepam and diazepam. Good luck."

is the medication buspar good for anxiety and are the side effects bad? and is there any diff between xanax and ativan?

Alex62 replied: "Buspar is good for anxiety if it works for you. Side effects are nil if you don't get them. All this depends on how the person responds to the med - I'm not being flip. Xanax is more powerful than Ativan and more addictive."

J C replied: "depnds on the person. to me, xanax and ativan are near the same. Ativan isn't quite as strong ( which i actually prefer) and isn't near as additctive as xanax (but it still is addictive) Buspar can be great for some people. It often causes people to be dizzy when they first start it. I had some REALLY bad reactions to it. I ended up doing the exact opposite of everything it said it would do. I'm weird though. It may not do you that way. Try the Buspar 1st since it isn't addictive. Give it 2 weeks. If side effects don't stop then, I'd quit it.Try ativan 2nd and xanax 3rd. START ON LOW DOSES! Trust me, you want to take the bare minimum. BTW, Buspar is meant for generalize anxiety disorder. Do you constantly worry, like all the time about everything? Or do you have panick attacks or only get anxious under certain circumstances? If that is the case, you would prob do better with ativan or xanax. I'm not doctor! Just a patient that's taken a lot of different meds untl I found what works. Good luck!"

Levone replied: "I can only tell you about my experience...It made me MORE anxious! But, it's been marketed for anxiety for about 30 years, so it must help some people. Ativan and Xanax are both short-acting benzodiazepines; Xanax, it seems is abused more often. What does your doctor recommend? I'd give his first choice about 2 weeks-then, if it has bad side effects or you feel you're taking too much, tell him. Doctors have a bigger choice of anti-anxiety drugs than they used to."

michelle A replied: "My sister took it and it didn't help her. Xanax is fast acting and it works but it very addictive and hard to come off of."

Can Buspar for Anxiety cause Enlarged Liver? I am 27 and currently on Buspar 12.5 mg a day for Anxiety. I found out my liver is enlarged but the doctors did several liver tests that showed normal. I have been taking Buspar for 1 year and before was on Paxil before I got pregnant. (I have an 11 weeek old) Can these medications causte liver enlargement?

Steph replied: "the drug itself does not cause liver enlargement. However, if you have a liver disease already..Buspar can cause complications and you need to be monitored while on the medication. What did your doctor tell you about the enlargement issue? Do not stop taking the buspar cold turkey. If you have a concern or are worried talk to your doctor. As far as the medication, Call your pharmacist and ask him about any and all drugs you are taking. Sometimes mixing things can cause problems. Your Pharmacist will be able to tell you all the risks and side effects of the any drugs you are taking. Including anything over the counter...like ibuprofen aspirin etc etc."

Anyone taking buspar for short term anxiety? What are your experiences? Would you suggest it? I have PTSD and last week at work I had a bad episode that has stuck with me all this time. He prescribed this drug to me but I don't want to become dependent on medication.

Ryan H replied: "I have been on Buspirone, and I don't recommend it. It did pretty much nothing for me. I prefer the Benzodiazepine class. Don't go ahead with the BuSpar. You won't be happy. Try Valium (Diazepam), or Serepax (Oxazepam)."

Blorange replied: "I took buspar for two weeks and it sent me into a manic episode. I'm not even bipolar! I don't recommend it, but it might work for you."
